Struggle, change and growth are part of the human condition. We all have times when our lives — our relationships with ourselves or others — are not the way we want them to be. Whether you are feeling confused, sad, afraid or angry, or all of the above, you are in the perfect position to take the next step in your journey of healing. Although there are many things in life we cannot control, there is always work we can do.
While there can be power in a solitary struggle, humans are meant to grow and heal in the company of others. When you make the effort to build a supportive relationship with a trusted and trustworthy ally, you create the framework where positive change takes place. Therapy can be difficult — after all, change can be uncomfortable — however for over thirty years I have been witness to the good that can come from a strong therapeutic alliance.
If you are coping with a recent loss or the aftereffects of traumatic events earlier in your life, if you are struggling with depression or anxiety, or if you find yourself at a crossroad searching for your way, therapy can help. If your relationships with loved ones are troubled, or you would like less drama in your life, therapy can help. If you are living with a chronic or terminal illness, or are caring for someone who does, therapy can help. You may just feel overwhelmed or else numb, and can't put your finger on exactly what is wrong; therapy can still be a good place to start sorting it out.
My first task as a therapist is to listen and learn, and then together, as a team, we make a plan for your therapy. Your first task is to reach out and get the help you deserve.
